Looking back with gratitude, looking forward with confidence

After many years, A-kwadraat will soon be saying goodbye to Staf, who will be enjoying his well-deserved retirement, and Jan, who will be passing on the director's torch to Anje and working in a different role for another year. Two significant moments that we would like to highlight.

How do they look back on their careers? What made working at A-kwadraat so special? And what do they wish for their colleagues in the future? We'll let Jan and Staf speak for themselves.

What will stay with me most is that our people come in with a smile in the morning and take that same smile home with them. That may seem small, but to me it says it all. It is the best proof that together we have built something here where people feel good and know that they matter.

I have seen Amival grow into the A-kwadraat of today: an organization that offers opportunities and believes in what people can do. I am proud that we have achieved this together, in an atmosphere of respect and solidarity.

For the future, I wish for A-kwadraat to continue to hold on to that warmth and belief in people. Growth is important, but especially as an organization where everyone can be themselves, enjoys their work, and goes home feeling satisfied.

“Looking back on almost forty years A-kwadraat, I feel above all gratitude. For the path we have traveled together and the milestones we have achieved. For the small moments that are just as meaningful. As an organization, we make a difference every day, and being part of that means a lot to me.

‍

For the first ten years, I was close to the shop floor, among my colleagues. That direct contact, that spontaneity, has always remained my natural habitat. With the growth of A-kwadraat and my role as director, the distance grew a little, but the warm feeling remained. The fact that people still call me 'Jan', that someone waves or says something personal... that does something to a person.

Now that I am passing the torch to Anje, it feels good to know that A-kwadraat remains in the hands of people who believe in what we do. Remaining agile, staying true to our values, and putting people first in every decision has always been our strength. And I know that will continue to be the case.

We look back with great appreciation on the journey that Staf and Jan have taken with us. They have A-kwadraat into the organization we are today. Thank you, Staf and Jan, for everything! You will remain an integral part of A-kwadraat.
