What you do as a production supervisor

Within A-kwadraat, the wood department is a special business unit where craftsmanship, customization, and circular wood processing come together. From Gierle, a team of around 30 employees produces products such as parquet flooring, wooden cladding, and furniture components. Everything is tailored to the customer's needs, with a strong focus on quality, sustainability, and co-creation.

This unique approach requires a supervisor who understands the workplace and has an eye for improvement.

• You assess incoming orders (planing, sawing, recycling, etc.) and coordinate accurate price quotes and agreements with the customer.
• Next, you distribute the orders and translate the daily production requirements into a concrete work schedule to ensure timely, high-quality, and accurate production output.
• You actively contribute ideas on how to improve the production process and make it more efficient, always with an eye for safety, ergonomics, and quality. You work according to guidelines (such as ISO 9001) and keep up with the latest changes.
• You will manage a team of five supervisors in the execution of work assignments and support them in guiding employees who are distanced from the labor market (approximately 30 employees).
• You will be jointly responsible for maintaining (international) customer relationships active in the timber market (timber suppliers, timber processors, wholesalers).
• You will report to the Business Unit Manager responsible for the Wood and Green sector.

What you need to be able to do

• You have at least 10 years of experience in a (management) position within a similar project-based production environment (job shop, workshop, carpentry, etc.).
• You are stress-resistant and can handle unexpected situations with ease. You can respond flexibly to changes at customers.
• You are a people-oriented manager and know how to develop and inspire your team.
• You are highly solution-oriented, you see and seize opportunities that arise, and you have an eye for efficiency.
• You have strong organizational skills.
• You radiate enthusiasm and social engagement and consciously seek an environment where employees are at the heart of the mission.
